(DIPF/Orig.). This contribution starts with a critical view on the persuasive language of political literacy and thereby focuses on the difference between social learning and political learning. With reference to Hannah Arendt and Jacques Rancière the so-called political (or political sphere) is subsequently examined and conceived as a practice of equal freedom. This perspective may allow a better understanding of the connection between sociomoral thinking (and its development) and a political culture of the public sphere. Up to now, the examination of this causal relationship seems to have been neglected in the discourse of political literacy and democratic education. (DIPF/Orig.). |
