Abstract | In Poland the decades following the end of the Communist Era was a period of economic, social and systemic change in Poland. Solutions were sought to meet the rapidly changing needs of contemporary Polish society, and to prepare the younger generation to meet current and future challenges. This required major reform of the education system. Later changes, for example relating to European integration, required further reform, necessary for developing the younger generation's key competences necessary for functioning in the society of the 21st century. |
