Abstract	"Die vorliegende Arbeit liefert mithilfe eines Triangel-Ansatzes aus Arbeitsmarktanalyse ("Realität"), Medieninhaltsanalyse ("Medienrealität") und Interviews mit Journalisten bezugnehmend auf Nachrichtenwerte, Stereotypen und Cultural Frames (journalistische Praktik) mögliche Erklärungen für die vorgefundene Berichterstattung über Menschen mit Behinderungen im Zusammenhang mit ihrer Berufstätigkeit. Sie betrachtet den Zeitraum von 2009 (Verabschiedung der UN-Behindertenrechtskonvention in Deutschland) bis 2017. Als theoretische Ansätze werden die Nachrichtenwertforschung und Cultural Studies gewählt. Methodisch kommen Inhaltsanalysen und Experteninterviews neben Literaturstudien und Auswertungen von amtlicher Statistik und Umfragen zum Einsatz. Die Arbeit bestätigt frühere Untersuchungen im In- und Ausland, nach denen der Stellenwert von Menschen mit Behinderungen in den Publikumsmedien eher gering ist. Insofern über Menschen mit Behinderung in den Leitmedien berichtet wird, stehen behindertenpolitische Themen und die Paralympics im Fokus. Fragen der Berufsausübung spielen dagegen kaum eine Rolle. Die vertiefte Analyse zu beruflicher Inklusion im Zeitraum Januar 2009 bis März 2017 wertet regionale und überregionale Medien inhaltsanalytisch aus. Die Berichterstattung hat über die Jahre leicht zugenommen. Dennoch bleibt das Thema ein Randaspekt. Die Berichterstattung über berufliche Iklusion ist hauptsächlich auf Tätigkeiten mit geringer Qualifikation gerichtet..." Die Untersuchung bezieht sich auf den Zeitraum 2009-2017. "Using a triangulated approach combining labor market analysis ("reality"), media content analysis ("media reality"), and interviews with journalists regarding news values, stereotypes and cultural frames (journalistic practice), this dissertation provides possible explanations for the found coverage of people with disabilities in the context of their occupation in German newspapers. It considers the period from 2009 (adoption of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities in Germany) to 2017. News value research and cultural studies are chosen as theoretical approaches. Methodologically, content analyses, and expert interviews are used alongside literature studies and evaluations of official statistics and surveys. The work confirms the findings of earlier studies in Germany and abroad that the status of people with disabilities in the popular media is rather low. There are indications that in Germany, people with disabilities are even less frequently discussed in the evening TV news than in other countries. To the extent that people with disabilities are reported on in the leading media, the focus in Germany in recent years has been on disability policy issues such as proposed legislation. In addition, there is still comparatively extensive coverage of disabled sports (Paralympics). In contrast, questions of occupational practice hardly play a role. The topic of occupational inclusion was examined in depth in this study by analyzing the content of articles on the occupation and occupational inclusion of people with disabilities in regional and national media from January 2009 to March 2017. The coverage increased slightly over the period of the study. Nevertheless, the topic of occupational inclusion remains a marginal aspect. The relevance of the issue results on the one hand from the high number (potentially three million) of people affected, and on the other hand from the still comparatively poor situation with regard to the employment of people with disabilities. Newspaper reporting on occupational inclusion is mainly focused on low-skilled jobs. The study shows differences in coverage between regional and national media. In regional media, special events such as an "open day" of a workshop for disabled people (Werkstatt für behinderte Menschen) regularly make it into the paper.
