Abstract | This paper combines elements from three research domains: firstly, models of general didactics are taken into consideration. Secondly, research results on teachers' lesson planning are reviewed. Thirdly, the paper takes up research on students' activities and tasks. Thus, the explorative study covers the intersection of these three related fields. We decided to use the term 'student activities' instead of 'tasks' because we found that the common definitions of 'student tasks' did not correspond to what teachers were actually planning. For example, 'speaking in a choir' (see example in the text) is rather an activity than a task because it does not involve independent and autonomous thoughts or actions on behalf of the students within a specific situation. |
