| Abstract | This paper will show how blended learning can be usefully incorporated into traditional German language teaching through the use of the PerLe-platform. The concept of blended learning will be discussed as a possible added value for the teaching/learning process compared to traditional classroom teaching. The questions are: How does the use of media affect the learning process in the classroom? Can the implementation of media-based self-learning phases actually promote the acquisition of foreign language skills? And if so, what exactly are those skills, and to what extent is this increase in learning possible? The author of this exploratory study, which is based on the constructivist learning theory, has chosen an experimental research design which includes quantitative and qualitative data in order to analyze the effects of blended learning intervention and possible differences in learning achievements between treatment and control groups.
