"Emotional Constructivism" is one of the most current concepts in adult education (cf. Arnold 2009). It emphasizes the importance of emotions in how people feel, think, and act. This raises the question of whether emotional constructivism can also be applied in higher education. Self-organized learning is becoming increasingly prevalent in university study programs (cf. DG Education and Culture in the EU 2009, p. 13); one such example is the use of project work as a teaching technique. These new forms of learning are affecting lecturers' teaching styles. Using project work as an example, this article examines the suitability of emotional constructivism as an approach to university teaching. (zhb/text adopted). |
