Abstract	Die Fachdidaktik Bildnerisches Gestalten hat sich parallel zu den strukturellen und inhaltlichen Veränderungen in der schweizerischen Lehrerinnen- und Lehrerbildung entwickelt. Ihre Fragestellungen sind weitgehend identisch mit den Fragen anderer Fachdidaktiken; spezifische Aufgaben und Inhalte ergeben sich aus dem Bezug zum Fach Bildnerisches Gestalten (ehemals Zeichenunterricht). Der Wandel in der Kunst und die zentrale Bedeutung des Bildes in Alltag und Beruf, gesellschaftliche und ökonomische Faktoren haben das kunstpädagogische Denken und dessen Umsetzung in die Unterrichtspraxis beeinflusst. Diese Hintergründe sowie die Tertiarisierung der Lehrerinnen- und Lehrerbildung haben zu einem erweiterten Anforderungsprofil für Fachdidaktikerinnen und Fachdidaktiker geführt und bedingen neue Studienangebote. Parallel to the structural and content-related changes in Swiss teacher education (shift from the secondary to the tertiary level) the field of specialized subject didactics in art education has gone through a phase of transformation. Generally speaking, art education didactics has been concerned with questions similar to those of other specialized subject didactics. However, paying closer attention to the characteristics of art and art education, more specific problems and aims arise. The changing notions and practices in art as well as the increasing importance of images and image technology in everyday life and professional contexts are but two of many aspects which have led to an extension of the field of art education - both in theory and in practice. This article provides a summary of the development of specialized subject didactics in art education and its role in teacher education. The author concludes by saying that the recent changes have resulted in much more comprehensive profile requirements for teaching staff and, by implication, that respective (further) qualification programs are needed.
