Abstract | "As in past editions, the OECD Factbook includes statistics for selected emerging economies. Data for Brazil, India, Indonesia, China and South Africa are reported in this publication when available and deemed to be comparable with those for OECD countries. These emerging countries today play a central role in the world economy, a role that is set to become even more important in the future. [...] The OECD Factbook is written in a non-technical language, providing users with a one-shop resource of country-based data, helping them to assess a country's performance relative to others." Data are provided concerning population and migration, production and income, globalisation, prices, energy and transportation, labour, science and technology, environment, education, public finance and health. To commemorate the OECD 50th anniversary, the issue features a focus chapter on 50 years of OECD statistics. (DIPF/Orig.). |
