Abstract | Jacqueline Wilson's Worry Website is about a British primary school teacher, Mr. Speed, who sets up a worry website for the classroom computer. His idea is that his students can type in their problems and worries and give advice to each other anonymously. Each chapter is written from the perspective of one of Mr. Speed's students and deals with his or her particular worry and - in most of the cases - with its solution. The students' problems are very different and range from nightmares caused by watching a horror movie (despite forbidden to do so) to coping with their parents' divorce, from falling in love for the first time to living with a physical disability. In most of the cases it is Mr. Speed who finds a solution to his students' problems. |
