Abstract | The study conducted in Italy involved six public schools, five Istituti comprensivi (students from the age of 3 to 14 years) and one secondary school (students from 11 to 14 years of age) in the Province of Bergamo. ... The case studies... highlight sometimes different realities linked by common features. Significant aspects leading to the success of school activities emerge from them together with the different ways (with varying degrees of intensity) of implementing the concept of active citizenship. It was noted that school principals should have not only leadership and determination in everyday life but also - at the same time - the ability to involve teachers and auxiliary personnel and let them act freely, tapping into the best of what their personalities have to offer. This appears to be a winning element for the development of a culture of active citizenship. (DIPF/Orig.). |
