Abstract	"Der vorliegende Beitrag beschäftigt sich mit der sozialisatorischen Funktion und Relevanz von Popmusik im Jugendalter. Es wird herausgestellt, wie das Konfrontiert-Werden mit Musik sowie deren Auswahl, Nutzung und Aneignung Prozesse der Identitätsbildung anleitet, indem Jugendliche mittels musikalischer respektive musikstilistischer Geschmackspräferenzen tentativ (an-)zeigen können, 'wer sie sind bzw. sein möchten'. Zunächst wird anhand jugendtypischer Entwicklungsbelange aufgezeigt, welche Potenziale die Nutzung von populärer Musik für die Persönlichkeitsentwicklung hat. Im Weiteren wird erörtert, wie sich im Laufe der Entwicklung die musikalische Auswahl zu Komplexen verdichten kann, welche im Hinblick auf Lebensstil lesbar sind bzw. sein sollen. Es wird zudem der Frage nachgegangen, inwiefern Popmusik soziale Inklusion bzw. Exklusion über Distinktionen vor dem Hintergrund zunehmender situationsflexibler Nutzung heute (noch) erlaubt. Dies wird am Beispiel der zunehmenden (Tele-)Visualisierung (etwa in Form von Musikcastings-Shows) populärer Musik diskutiert." (Autorenreferat). "The following article refers to the socialization function and relevance of pop music in adolescence. It will be exposed in which way the being-confronted with music as well as the choice, use and acquirement of it processes the development of personal identity, while youngsters can point by means of preference towards either musical or music-stylistic taste tentatively show 'who they are or would like to be'. At first the authors will show what kind of potentials the use of pop music could have regarding youth typical developmental needs. It will be shown that in the course of the development the musical choice condenses to complexes, which are readable in view of life style or should be. Additionally they will talk about the question of asking to what extent pop music, in the course of increasing dilution of distinctive potentials or increasing situation-adaptable use, such a potential today can be assigned. This should be discussed regarding the background of an increasing process of (tele-)visualization (possibly in the form of music casting shows) of popular music." (author's abstract).
