Abstract | The cultural system of two sexes and close related gender roles has to incorporate by individuals in different domains and subjects. Based on the assumption that girl's sport engagement is influencing the decision-making process of occupations later in life, the purpose of the present study was an examination of context and condition factors impacting the choice of female students to become P.E. teachers. Central variables for the analysis included: a) the degree of teacher orientation and b) the perception of influencing conditions to become a sport teacher. The study utilized data from a cross-cultural approach of 34 female P.E. teachers from Italy and France. A qualitative research design was employed. |
