Abstract | The study of the effects of teaching practices has been the topic of many studies so far, ranging from case studies to correlational research, bearing on numerous data, including the more or less systematic assessment of innovations and experimentations. Important results describing various modes of teaching associated with student progress are available. Relatively recent research has made it possible to quantify what is commonly called a "teacher effect" phenomenon. The understanding of this effects of teaching practices remains nonetheless insufficient. To make progress in this field, the authors suggest proceeding in further research on the interdependent processes at work in the dynamics of the relationship between teaching and learning.
