Abstract | This article looks into the potentials of the heuristic method of self confrontation within the framework of the study of school activities of students (first formers to fourth formers) in a set cognitive anthropological perspective. Self confrontation consists in an interview which is twofold: it deals with expliciting commentaries on past sequences of activity by members of the group, it also relies on the audiovisual recordings of the past sequences. First we present the theoretical frame, the context of the study and the conditions that guaranteed the quality of these self confrontations. Second, basing ourselves on observations made over a period of four months, we bring to light the three stages which structured the progressive construction of a reflexive position of the students to explicit the meaning of the experience they lived at school. The last part consists in a synthesis in favour of the viability and of the methodological potential of the self confrontations carried out with the students. (DIPF/orig.). |
