| Abstract | French regulation is the same for teachers in private and state sector in terms of requisites for titles and subsequent career. Yet, depending on their sector, teachers differ in history and in status regarding the state. In the first place, private schools were not associated to the mission of public service until the DEBRÉ law (December 31, 1959). In addition, private teachers work under a contractual status while their colleagues of the other sector are civil servants. In private sector, teaching is shaped by private authorities, whereas the state sector is ruled by public authorities. This inventory presents a selection of francophone publications dealing with major dimensions of teaching in secondary state and private schools. (DIPF/orig.) |
