Abstract	By describing the research process and implementation of their case study about bullying among boys from 11 - 16 years of age in a city school, the authors want to show "what the process of investigating bullying might tell us about the value of evidence and information gathering in general." They question the objectivity of most of the research about bullying because these investigations relied only on anonymous questionnaires and did not pay attention to the specific context of the particular school. "Because of this it was decided that three ways of gathering information should be used: participant observation, a questionnaire and structured interviews. In this way it was hoped to make apparent the differences between the external definition and the context specific operational definitions used by students and teachers. The expectation was that it is out of this sort of multi-dimensional investigation that appropriate models for action can be developed." (DIPF/Bi.).
