Abstract	The report focuses on vocational schools and colleges, the two types of schools providing vocational education, training skilled workers and technicians for the big industrial enterprises of the past. This was formerly the most developed sector of VET (vocational education and training).... Nowadays, all the problems of the current transition period are concentrated in this type of school. There have been selected five vocational schools, dealing mostly with graduates of basic secondary schools, and three colleges, dealing with graduates of upper secondary schools.... The first two chapters provide an overview of the VET system and of its socio-economic environment, and the third chapter reviews financing and management of the chosen vocational institutions. Chapter four draws the main conclusions of the interviews, and chapter five analyses the results of the survey. (DIPF/orig.).
