Abstract	In this paper the Pluto Project (Project to Link Universities and Teaching Organisations) is examined as an example of multi-partner and multi-national activity. "The project links universities, teacher- training institutions, different groups of teacher educators and student teachers, and classroom practitioners ... in European countries. The resulting network is realised and carried out by new information and communication hardware and software. The general approach of the project can be described as "collaborative distance learning" in a technology-rich learning environment." The paper outlines the origin and the evolution of the project, and its leading principles and goals. It describes two examples of activities within the Pluto project. The first one was realised as a case of "school based in-service training" by students in initial teacher-education for primary schools from Brussels and Manchester in which they were exchanging information on their initial teacher-education curricula by multi-media. The second one was especially devoted to primary schools. The global title they gave to their exchanges was called "European Awareness". (DIPF/St.).
