Abstract | The present paper focuses on the existing system of Internship in Teaching/ Practice Teaching/ Field Experiences and some of the serious drawbacks in the existing system [of in-service training]. It requires fresh thinking and restructuring of training system in all teacher training institutions. Therefore a global study of the existing Practice Teaching/ Internship or School Experience Programme was conducted on ... Teacher Training Institutions in India. Based on data collected from these institutions the author has suggested a prospective model of Secondary Teacher Training programme with the sole purpose of making it meaningful for prospective teachers.
