Abstract | The development of the sciences and the changes in all areas of the social life legitimate the notion of "new paradigm". In front of this background school cannot be simply improved; however, it must be "newly reflected" to be newly constructed. The concept of the "Mobile workshops" is based upon this premise. It suggests a way of change beginning with small and clear "cores of growth" in the process of instruction, and it promotes networks of learning and manifold co- operative combinations instead of linear learning structures. This is the way to link theory and practice and to integrate the material component. Cooperation, another handling of resources, and the development of sustainability make it possible, departing from the current practice, to approach a new quality of school in small and realistic steps. Thus, according to C. Freinet, school as a place of life and experience ends up to be Utopia, and learning gains new dimensions. (DIPF/orig.) |
