Abstract | "The authors conducted research into management of primary schools in the Shaanxi region of China. This paper employs qualitative empirical research data to develop a greater understanding of how primary schools are managed in England and Shaangxi province". The research used questionnaires, interviews, observation and document analysis in three Chinese schools. The results concerning four key themes are reported in the paper: "1) the purposes of education; 2) styles of management; 3) who exercises control; and 4) financial management". (DIPF/Bi.) |
