Abstract | The policy of the Dutch Ministry of Education and Science to strengthen links cooperation with neighbouring countries is based on a number of factors which apply to both primary and secondary education on either side of the border. The government has established a number of programmes for Dutch schools to promote contact with schools in neighbouring countries. The European Platform is tasked with implementing these programmes. This enables funds to be made available for a wide range of activities. Firstly there is the GROS programme, a cross-border educational programme in regional cooperation. The aim of this programme is to stimulate cooperation between educational establishments in border regions. (DIPF/taken from the summary). |
