Abstract | This book puts forward the "Learning Organisation" as a vision on which to build the enterprise of the future. Learning can no longer be limited to equipping people with individualistic skills of a purely technological nature; the focus must be switched to the organisational aspects of work and technology. People need to participate effectively in new forms of work organisation which, in turn, demand new approaches to training in order to develop core- qualifications, teamwork abilities and self-learning competency. The book analyses some of the difficulties facing enterprises today and offers ideas on how learning can be embedded in the culture and the day-to-day work of a company. The concepts put forward in this book are very relevant to managers, entrepreneurs and all those involved in human resource development, wether in companies, education and training institutions, or public authorities.
