Abstract | Twelve social work students in southern Illinois completed their field placement in a rural community-based agency. Analysis of students' reflective logs demonstrates their progressive development in the areas of rapport building with clients, understanding organizational aspects of the agency, awareness of community issues and resources, and self-awareness. Implications for the service-learning model are discussed. (Contains 22 references.) (SV) |
