Abstract | This document, which is in the form of a multiple-page table, provides the following information about each of the 163 currently existing federal employment training programs: (1) fiscal year 1995 appropriation; (2) summary of the program's purpose as it related to employment training activities; (3) authorizing legislation and U.S. Code citation; (4) "Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance" program number; (5) budget account number; (6) target group; and (7) type of employment training assistance provides. Included in the list are programs offered by the following government departments and organizations: Appalachian Regional Commission; Corporation for National Service; Office of Personnel Management; Small Business Administration; and U.S. Departments of Agriculture, Commerce, Defense, Education, Health and Human Services, Housing and Urban Development, Interior, Justice, Labor, Transportation, and Veterans' Affairs. Programs listed provide the following types of assistance for various target groups: direct services; capital improvements; planning and program development; training and technical assistance; research, demonstration, and pilot projects; direct financial aid; and performance incentives.
