Abstract | Materials contained in this curriculum guide are arranged for the classroom teacher as follows: a preface or "Foreword to the Teacher" begins each guide; following the preface is the day-by-day procedure written from the teacher's point of view, including title of activity (what the greater part of the day will be spent on), objectives, time line, materials needed and the procedure to be followed; where applicable student worksheets or study materials are provided. Five activities are included for the seventh grade level, five for the eighth grade level and seven for the ninth grade level. Activities outlined include the following: labeling storage units, drawing size relationships, product design and awareness, drawing a lifeline and future projection, expressing feelings in clay, designing an ad, and cover design. Unit objectives are indexed for each grade level and include positive attitude toward self, clarifying meanings of school and work, interpersonal skills, and awareness of work roles. (TA) |
