Abstract | This exploratory study linked academic and personal development within a group counseling intervention. A pre-test post-test research design compared social skills, learning behaviors, and achievement with a convenience sample and control group of students from three elementary schools. For the treatment group, grade point average in Language Arts was significantly higher than for the control group. However, none of the other variables was statistically significant. Implications for school counselors and future research are explored. (Contains 2 tables.) (As Provided). |
