Abstract | In the present study, college student-athletes were either placed in seminars that were intended to motivate them to succeed on and off the field (i.e., in their chosen sport) or placed in a control group (i.e., a group that did not experience these motivational seminars). Consequently, they were surveyed in order to determine if the student-athletes that had attended the seminars outperformed the student-athletes who did not experience the seminars, across a broad range of variables. The results from the present student demonstrated favorable trends suggesting that the seminars probably had some positive effects, but it was recommended that more research is needed before anything conclusive can be said regarding the effectiveness of the procedure employed in the present study.
