AbstractAs the country and college campuses shut down in the Spring of 2020 in response to COVID-19, institutions needed to quickly pivot their plans into a digital environment to yield their accepted class. Through the Wisr platform, institutions communicated directly with their admitted students and their families through discussion board functionality centered in communities of common interests, one-to-one chats and phone calls with trained student ambassadors and university staff, and virtual events marketed through their site. Wisr allows each institution to configure their site to reflect the rich and vibrant campus community just as they would for an in-person program. Ideally, prospective students who engage with Wisr will be able to determine institutional fit without ever having to step foot on campus. In June 2020, Wisr compiled data from eighteen partnering colleges and universities to evaluate the impact of digital community and student ambassador engagement on enrollment outcomes from the Spring 2020 recruitment and yield season. This article highlights the results of that study, as well as a case study from Wayne State University (WSU). (ERIC).
