Abstract | The 2021 Legislature tasked the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) with convening a workgroup to develop recommendations to support recruiting and retaining a multicultural and multilingual educator workforce with state salary allocations that are competitive and reflective of current economic conditions. The K-12 Basic Education Compensation Advisory Committee met from November 2021 through September 2022 and provided their final recommendations to the Superintendent of Public Instruction as required by state law. The Superintendent then streamlined those recommendations into a more targeted budget request. This report includes OSPI's targeted recommendations, as well as the Committee's comprehensive recommendations. (ERIC). |
