| Abstract | The objective of this inspection was to assess the U.S. Department of Education's (Department) plans and procedures for returning employees to the federal office in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, including what existing guidance the Department considered when developing its plans and procedures. Specifically, the Office of Inspector General (OIG) reviewed the Department's reconstitution plans and procedures in response to the coronavirus pandemic and described how the Department developed these plans. This also included noting whether the Department's plans appear to be in alignment with existing guidance and noting any apparent weaknesses in the plan with regard to the guidance. This report provides OIG's findings and recommendations for the Department. (ERIC). |
