Abstract | In building a program to advance school leadership in science, a mechanism for prioritizing science education at a school was developed for schools and then carried out by school staff. The development process (including focus groups and interviews) and literature review yielded a difference in thought between teachers and administrators about perspectives on STEM education. Through evaluations, reflections, surveys, and interviews throughout the pilot and first year of programming, we found a lack of strong difference between teachers and administrators. In the second year of programming, we will continue to examine the differences between these two groups and the outcomes of prioritizing science education at the whole-school level through building on the strengths of the similarities between teachers and administrators.
