Abstract | The purpose of this study was to evaluate the agricultural communications curriculum in Texas high schools using perceptions of agriscience teachers (n=145) in Texas high schools. Another intention of the study was to determine perceived abilities of agriscience teachers to teach agricultural communications courses. Answers to questions related to the characteristics, competencies, and perceived abilities were sought via a descriptive survey. The study found that 67% of the teachers had little or no experience in the field of agricultural communications. The teachers also indicated their perceived level of teaching skill pertaining to communication techniques and procedures ranged from fair to good. (Contains 18 references.) (DDR) |
