| Abstract | This driver education curriculum for secondary students contains three learning activity packages (LAPs). The first LAP provides an overview and orientation to the course. The second LAP covers the basic control procedures for driving a car. The third LAP covers several tasks involved in normal driving, including observing, communicating, controlling speed, and positioning. Finally, the fourth LAP covers procedures needed when driving a car under certain environmental factors. These factors inlcude limited traction, limited visibility, night driving, and car/driver stresses. Each LAP contains the following elements: introductory materials explaining each LAP's purpose and objectives; informational handouts; exercise sheets; and check point tests. (BM) |
