| Abstract | This is a collection of 14 papers presented at a professional association conference to explore the possibilities of how the Federation Internationale de Documentation (FID) could improve the education and training of information specialists. The subject was approached from four viewpoints: (1) professional aspects of education and training; (2) user training; (3) education and training in different countries; and (4) education and training in Spain. Topics of papers include: "The Project for Professional Categories and Common Studies at Different Kinds of Schools and Faculties for Information Officers, Librarians, and Archivists"; "Information Consciousness and Information Propaganda"; "Turdok's Experience on Training of Information Specialists"; and "Notes on the Information Specialist Training at the Faculty of Information Sciences in Madrid Complutense University."
