| Abstract | This publication describes the history, setting, governance, objectives, and programs of the Mercer County Teacher Education Center. It is stated that the center is a consortium of a local school system, two colleges, and the West Virginia Department of Education and is designed to enhance the implementation of effective teacher preparation programs. The section on governance contains an organizational chart and the by-laws of the center. The programs described are (1) preservice experiences, (2) inservice/continuing education, (3) suggestions for supervising teachers, and (4) conferences. (Author/RC) |
