Abstract	This annotated bibliography on the teaching of modern foreign languages was prepared by the West German documentation center dealing with foreign language research. The center has an information dissemination service which closely resembles the Clearinghouse on Languages and Linguistics of the ERIC system (ERIC/CLL). This bibliography, published quarterly by the IFS, lists items compiled in conjunction with the ERIC/CLL as well as with a number of institutions in other countries involved with research or applications in languages or linguistics. In Vol. 5, No. 4 are listed 251 items, most of which were published in 1973 and 1974. Although the entries deal primarily with the teaching of modern foreign languages, several other areas of linguistics are considered. The entries include mostly German, English, French and Russian titles. The publication is composed of three main sections: (1) an alphabetical author/title listing of items, giving full bibliographic information and including subject index terms; (2) abstracts of the items in German; and (3) a subject index developed from the descriptor terms assigned to each entry. These three main sections are preceded by directions on the use of the bibliography and lists of sources cited--periodicals, publishers and institutions. The publication concludes with a cross-reference index of author/title to entry number. (TL)
