Abstract | Haskell Institute at Lawrence, Kansas--a post-high-school vocational education center and junior college sponsored by the Bureau of Indian Affairs--is the subject of this paper in the National Study of American Indian Education. A brief history of the development of Haskell is followed by the results of a survey given to 689 students in 1968. The survey questionnaire contained 33 items designed to elicit information on student attitudes toward the institute, cultural background, religious preferences, friendship patterns, and vocational preferences. Profiles are provided separately for all respondents, male respondents, and female respondents in the 99 table which conclude this report. (LS) |
