Abstract | In addition to the major purpose of developing the necessary information for writing educational specification for housing medical assistant programs, the guide is designed to: (1) assist planners in the formation of creative housing solutions for desired programs, (2) prevent important considerations from being overlooked in the planning process, and (3) encourage logical and systematic planning. The guide includes four sections. Part I is a discussion of the major purpose, underlying assumptions, recent instructional trends, and guiding principles. Part II gives important information on medical assistant objectives and the kinds of programs which will be organized to implement them. Part III describes in detail the actual spaces desired to house the program. Part IV is an annotated bibliography of reference sources which offer a more detailed treatment of the various phases of facility planning. A Guide to Systematic Planning for Vocational and Technical Schools (ED 026 537) is a related document. (JK) |
