AbstractAfter a period of time in the Work Opportunity Center (WOC) training program in Minneapolis, Minnesota, 32 boys and 22 girls were re-administered a self-attitude checklist to determine any changes in self-perception. Approximately 60% made improvements. At the time, the 54 individuals responded to a questionnaire soliciting information and comments regarding their activities, progress, and goals. Some 56% were employed at least part-time and a large number of those employed were also attending WOC. A significantly larger proportion of those both in school and working made gains rather than losses in their self-perception scores. More were at least reasonably satisfied with their activities than were not. The group felt on the average, that they had gained in progress toward becoming the person they most wanted to be. (BP)
