| Abstract | In dem HSW-Gespräch mit dem Vorsitzenden des Wissenschaftsrates, Peter Strohschneider, wird unter dem provokanten Titel "Droht die Aufwertung der Lehre durch Erhöhung des Lehrdeputats? Zur Empfehlung des Wissenschaftsrates zur Lehrprofessur und der Politik einiger Länder in der Debatte um Lecturer, Lehrkräfte für besondere Aufgaben und Lehrprofessur" die Aufwertung der akademischen Lehre und die künftige Personalstruktur erörtert. Die Empfehlungen des Wissenschaftsrates hierzu haben heftige Kontroversen ausgelöst. Sie beruhen z.T. (mangels genauerer Kenntnisnahme der Empfehlungen) auf Missverständnissen. Daher schien dem HSW die Gelegenheit wichtig, Dinge zurecht zu rücken, aber auch auf Bedenken (nicht zuletzt des HSW selbst) einzugehen. (HDZD/Text übernommen). HSW talked to the chairman of the German Science and Humanities Council Peter Strohschneiderand discussed the enhancing of academic teaching and the future of personal structure. The provoking title of this talk reads as follows "Will an increase of the teaching load cause a revaluation of teaching? The recommendation given by the German Science and Humanities Council concerning lecturing professors, as well as the science policy of some federal governments during the discussion about lecturer, qualified teacher for special tasks and lecturing professor". The recommendations of the German Science and Humanities Council caused controversial reactions, based on misunderstandings (caused by a wrong understanding of the recommendation). Therefore the HSW wants to take the opportunity to adjust things and to speak about concerns (not at least the concerns of the HSW). Awarding has often been named as a method to enhance the status of academic teaching. This has a very long tradition in the research sector (right up to the Nobel Prize). As recently as fifteen years ago the awarding of academic teaching has been uncommon in German-speaking countries. In marked contrast thereto the "Award for Excellent Teaching" is a fixed establishment in the USA, that is well known by the public. Similar awards have been established in other countries (in Germany at federal level, for example in Baden Wuerttemberg, Rhineland Palatinate). (HDZD/Text adopted). |
