Abstract	This Compendium includes all the social partners' transnational projects that were selected in 1995 and 1996 in the framework of the Leonardo da Vinci programme, and that were contracted by employers' organisations, trade unions or joint bodies. It was initiated to support a conference on "Social dialogue in training programmes at European level: strategies and impact", held in Elsinore (Denmark) on June 18-20, 1997. It aims at showing how involved the social partners have been in the field of vocational training, both in actively increasing the quality and innovative value of training systems and practices and in promoting, at European level, a social dialogue to improve the effectiveness of vocational training in increased competences for young people and salaried employees. The Compendium gives an insight into the general objectives and lines of action developed by the 129 projects carried out by the social partners under the auspices of the Leonardo da Vinci programme.
