Abstract | Urban schools are plagued with multiple issues that contribute to their low graduation rate. University of Louisville took a step forward by partnering with the school district to transform five schools into high performing schools. Building on the strengths of these schools, a collaborative partnership was developed that involved the entire university community. The partnership pooled university resources and expertise to address four areas--professional development, field placement of university students, educational enrichment, and social enrichment programs.
