Abstract	This article presents the author's response to Hisham B. Ghassib's article entitled "Where Does Creativity Fit into a Productivist Industrial Model of Knowledge Production?" Ghassib (2010) presents three intriguing and novel ideas which are worth anyone's attention. Firstly, that the constantly increasing amount of scientific knowledge can be regarded as an industry. Secondly, that science is a "communal creative process." Thirdly, he suggests a new model to describe this surge of modern scientific knowledge. In this article, the author presents a brief comment on the surge of modern scientific knowledge. Although there is plenty of reference to ancient scientific thinking in the build-up to the writer's thesis of modern science as a knowledge industry, the author felt a great lack of cultural understanding. Given the writer's stated interest in creativity, the author would also have liked to see some reference made to the value of scientific thinking to the arts. (ERIC).
