Abstract | Special educators (n=14) at a day school for emotionally and behaviorally disturbed (EBD) students were interviewed about their teaching practices; they concurred in emphasizing active learning, empowerment for students, and adjustment by the teacher to the students' changing needs and interests. EBD students can succeed in regular education only if regular classroom teachers make substantial changes in their educational practices. (CC) |
