Abstract | Introduction: The furtherance of educational, social and occupational inclusion has led to increasing acceptance of people with intellectual disabilities as full members of the community. However, attitudes and behaviors towards these people are not always positive. Method: Taking the model of the FUNDOWN School of Life as the theoretical basis, the aim of this research was to validate a simple instrument for collecting information on how adolescents and young people position themselves towards people with intellectual disabilities. For this purpose, an initial questionnaire was developed, submitted to the judgment of experts, and applied to 276 secondary education students at a school in Murcia (Spain), using a non-experimental, quantitative research method. Results: By carrying out exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis, and applying the structural equation model, a two-factor questionnaire was obtained. Discussion and conclusions: Construct validity and reliability were acceptable. (As Provided). |
