Abstract | The purpose of this paper is to suggest some of the implications for teachers' roles that might result from the growth of computer technology in education. In the past, technological innovations in education have affected the roles of teachers as much as those of students. An important historical example is the invention of mechanical printing, which created new and more readily available opportunities for individual learning. It also allowed the teacher to move away from such tasks as reading aloud to mature audiences. (As Provided). |
