Abstract | Family day care providers are responsible for creating a high-quality program where children have opportunities to grow, learn and thrive. Part of providing high-quality child care includes complying with the family day care regulations from the New York State Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS). This Handbook will help day care providers: (1) understand how the regulations promote the health, safety and development of children in their care; (2) use the regulations as the foundation of their programs; and (3) gain resources that they can use to support the children and families with whom they work. This Handbook is designed to be used along with the New York State OCFS family day care regulations. Includes an appendix on health and hygiene. [This Handbook was produced by the New York State Office of Children and Family Services.] (ERIC). |
