Abstract | This pamphlet deals with the role of vocational education in apprenticeship. Discussed in the first section are the nature and importance of apprenticeship, apprenticeable occupations, and the parties involved in apprenticeship programs. The bulk of the pamphlet describes various services provided by vocational education to apprenticeship programs, including evaluation and assessment services, associate degree programs, pre-apprenticeship exercises, curriculum development projects, instructor training and certification, related instructional courses, and advisory planning board participation. In the final section, several means for coordinating vocational education and apprenticeship programs are examined. A brief bibliography is appended. (MN) |
