| Abstract | The Rotterdam City Council's Project "Education and Social Environment" was established to improve the educational environment for disadvantaged children in two workinq class neighborhoods in Rotterdam, Netherlands. First, the problems of educationally disadvantaged children are discussed. Next, the planning, organizational, and developmental activities of the project are presented. A time schedule and description of component programs in academic subject areas, parent and adult education, and social and affective development are also included. The project is said to emphasize the development of the total child within the regular school environment. (JCD) |
